Master Bond UV22DC80-1Med is a low viscosity, single component epoxy based dual cure compound used for structural bonding of medical devices. This unique formulation contains nanosilica fillers and will cross link rapidly upon exposure to UV light. It also is capable of curing in concealed “shadowed out” areas. The thermal cure occurs at temperatures as low as 80°C (176°F). This has proven advantageous for adhering heat-sensitive substrates. UV22DC80-1 Med is frequently employed by manufacturers for fixturing parts with UV portion of the cure, prior to finishing processing with heat. This rigid curing composition is not oxygen inhibited, has phenomenal dimensional stability, abrasion resistance and a glass transition temperature after a post cure of >125°C. Its Shore D hardness is 80-90 at room temperature. This 100% solids product has minimal shrinkage upon cure, a volume resistivity of >1014 ohm-cm, and a coefficient of thermal expansion of 30-35 x 10-6 in/in/°C.
UV22DC80-1Med can be easily applied manually or automatically. It is engineered to speed productivity. The viscosity is 500-3,500 cps at room temperature. This optically clear compound has a refractive index of 1.52 at 589 nm. Additionally, it provides protection against corrosion. This biocompatible product is USP Class VI certified and passes ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity testing.
Master Bond UV22DC80-1Med has the ability of being utilized for the assembly of both disposable and reusable medical devices. These compounds are noted for lot-to-lot consistency, reliability, durability, dependability and for meeting the highest quality standards. These non-invasive and minimally invasive devices are engaged by healthcare professionals in clinics, hospitals, long term care centers, ambulatory service centers, and doctors’ offices to help patients dealing with ailments involving:
