EP29LPAO is a two component epoxy system particularly suited for large potting and encapsulation applications. This system is thermally conductive and electrically insulative. But what really makes it unique, is its low exotherm and long open time.

EP29LPAO is prepared for use by thoroughly mixing Part A with Part B in a 100 to 50 mix ratio by weight. Mixing should be done slowly to avoid trapping air. Using a syringe, we show the epoxy flowing into a small metal mold. The optimal cure schedule is overnight at room temperature followed by 4-5 hours at 150°F. Once cured, it is removed from the casting. You can see it shows very low shrinkage upon curing, and superior dimensional stability.

Next we demonstrate the epoxy being poured into a beaker. We tested this material in a very large mass to highlight its long working life. The working life of 1700 grams of mixed material is between 10 and 12 hours. Working life can be further lengthened by using shallow mixing vessels or mixing smaller size batches.

Other key properties include its good physical strength and high thermal conductivity. To learn more about this product and how it can be used in your application, give us a call today.
